Compare Online Learning Versus Traditional learning
Recently the US Department of Education conducted an interesting survey to measure up online learning versus traditional learning. Now this might seem like a controversial statement but its buzz worthy enough for students exploring the possibility of online education. When you compare learning online to learning in a classroom, the biggest difference is that students studying online have the flexibility to attend classes at their own pace and time.
I know a lot of traditional educators will blow me away but it makes sense to share my perspective. The study concludes that students learning online courses execute drastically better as compared to those who attend traditional classroom. Furthermore, the study analyzed various other factors about learning online to conclusively support its findings. Obviously some of the most common questions concerning online versus traditional learning are related to accreditation and degree credentials.
Preview results of study on distance learning vs traditional learning:
• On average, students who enrolled in online university classes significantly outperformed students attending traditional on campus colleges on the same subjects.
• Teaching communication that combined both online classes and face to face interaction clearly increased the student learning curve. Comparative to the combined teaching method, pure traditional classroom teaching couldn’t deliver the same level of elearning efficiency.
• Student learners attending website based courses are able to spend more time doing actual tasks in comparison to students attending face-to-face instructional classes. Online learning holds a distinct advantage over traditional learning method to prepare students in a performance based outcome.
• Even with a lot of changes in studies offered through distance learning, the overall performance of students remained consistent.
• The dynamics of internet learning model presents a broad spectrum across various asynchronous course studies and learning dimensions.
• An overview of study between online distance education and traditional on-campus learning gave synchronized results in terms of student execution.
• To our surprise, electronic media (Live video conference, pod casts) and website tests are not the major factors that improve or influence the on site studying experience. However correspondence education mostly depends on electronic media, as a core element of distance learning.
• Online learning courses can be improved by providing students complete access to their study interface and encouraging higher graduation rate.
One of the biggest benefits of education online is being able to share thoughts with anyone across the world. Online learning classes provide a unique platform for technology integration across all the e-learning centers on the internet.
Recent studies on online learning versus traditional learning education have just scratched the surface and it has a long way to go in the future. For now, we can only draw ideas about our understanding of online learning environments. After students across United States start realizing the advantages of distance learning colleges, assessing the cognitive elements of online institution will become much easier.
