Certified Nursing Assistant
If you are looking for a career in the health care field that will not involve extensive training or tuition, you should consider work as a certified nursing assistant.  A CNA can find a job in a variety of different healthcare sectors including: continuing care communities, hospitals, rehabilitation centers and home health settings.

The exact duties will vary depending on the setting in which you practice. Some of the most common tasks include: monitoring and recording a patient’s vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living, help with range of motion exercises and moving patient’s in bed to prevent bedsores. These are just a few things you will do.
There are potential benefits to working as a nurse. The CNA Salary typically ranges from about $11-$15 per hour. If you have additional skills, you can earn an even higher salary. You will have the opportunity to receive healthcare and other benefits if you work full-time.

It does not take too much time or training to become one. You will need to complete 70 hours or more of practice depending on the state where you live and the program you enter. Some courses are around 120 hours. If you are attending a full-time course, it will only take you a few weeks to become a nursing assistant. Most training lasts from 3 weeks to 3 months depending on how many hours you are able to study each day.

A career as a CNA will give you the opportunity to start on the path of experience in the medical industry without spending a great deal of money. Many training programs are between $600 and $1000. This is a good investment in your future and compared to many other programs is quite inexpensive. Your employer might even pay if you are willing to work for that employer for a few months after getting certified.

Many schools are starting to require that applicants hold their nursing certification. You will be ahead of the game if you decide you want to become a nurse sometime in the future. Even if a school does not require you to be a CNA, having your certification might help you to be accepted into the program.

A job in health care provides you with a good opportunity to find out if a career in healthcare is right for you. You will be able to interact directly with patients and to interact throughout the day with other healthcare providers. If you love your job, you might soon find that you want to further your education.

You can do a full time job that offers a fair salary while you continue your education. For example, you might decide to get employed as a nursing assistant while you attend school. Even if you are going to further your education at some point, working professionally will provide you with good experience for the future.
